So, it's been a huge game changer for me and my reading! And I'm very grateful!
I have been using OpenAudible for 3 years now and it was one of the better software purchases I've made in the last half decade. The devs are responsive to any identified issues and quick to issue fixes. The interface is polished and allows for a lot of configurability in both looks and function.
Most importantly I feel like I have a complete control of my Audible library while not being bound to proprietary interfaces or forced to into making operating platforms choices to enjoy the products I paid for. It's the best Audiobook management software out there! Well worth my hard earned money.

I have used OpenAudible for over a year now (it may be two). It has improved markedly in this time and, paired with my Mac M2 Silicon, it performs its task at high speed and seamlessly - there have been no errors. i used it to back up my audible library in m2b format through download and conversion - I have used others prior to this, but none had the ease of use and or the low cost of this application. Such local archiving is, I believe, prudent, as sometime historic titles vanish from Audible's catalogue. A great investment!

This is Awesome! I often travel abroad, and an internet connection isn't always available. This allows me to store my books as mp3 files and play anywhere. I know the audible app is available, but sometimes it isn't what I need - this, on theother hand is exactly what I need!

I've been using OpenAudible for over a year now and I'm definitely a fan. Audible is my preferred platform for audiobooks, but I also like to have a backup my purchases. If anything ever happens to any of my Audible library, copies of my books are safely stored on an external hard drive, thanks to OpenAudible. I haven't used all of the features, but everything I've tried has been easy. If you're on the fence about purchasing, just do it. It's worth the money. The install of open audible was very simple and straightforward. It is very simple to setup openaudible with your audible account. Everything about the program is simple to learn & understand.. Im using the program to put my books on a waterproof device.

A couple years ago, because Amazon made a mistake and closed my account, I lost 16 years worth of Audible purchases. While they ended up doing the right thing and restoring my purchases, it reminded me that I do not own the audiobook--I've simply rented it. And Audible says you have lifetime access to your book, but they can turn it off whenever they want. So I love having a backup copy of all the books I've purchased, under my control. Thanks OpenAudible!
Audible is not an infinite resource. Companies come and go. When (not if) Audible concludes their business, what happens to all of the audiobooks you've purchased? Thanks to OpenAudible I don't have to worry about this problem. Now I own what I own. Reasonable backups, not to share with others, is something that people have lost sight of, but not me. OpenAudible helps me secure my purchases so that I never have to worry.
OpenAudible is one of the greatest pieces of software I've used in the last 12 months. Very easy to install and operate, I've been using it constantly to manage my library. Highly recommended!!
This is a legit life saver for a family who want to share there library. Have each family member sign in, load the library, then sign out without saving any credentials. Thanks to this our family who are avid listeners all get to have a library to share similar to borrowing physical books. A bonus is perhaps you get to hear something you wouldn't have chosen but turn out to love.

OpenAudible allowed me to actually treat my purchased audiobooks as though I owned them. I could all of a sudden, play them anywhere I had an mp3 player, and was no longer chained to the audible app for listening. For the price of less than a single audiobook, it actually let me own my books.

I have been using OpenAudible for many years. It allows me to convert Audible audio books to mp3 file for my son who has special needs. He loves to read with the Kindle app on his tablet. He reads and listens to the mp3s I make from the Audible books. My wife is a quilter. She has an mp3 player, and listens to Audible books, as well. We also enjoy listening to Audible stories in the car on long trips. The car will only play mp3s, so we make good use of OpenAudible!
I'm a big fan of OpenAudible and use it to manage all my audiobooks, not only those from Amazon, but also my own that I save as mp4. Open Audible gives me a very easy overview of my collection and allows me to manage metadata. It's one of the tools I've been using for years :-) Try it out!
OpenAudible has been an amazing answer for someone like me who still wishes to not always be 100% connected! In my instance I use a Lightphone and the only way to get my audiobooks onto it is to convert my audiobooks to MP3 format. Openaudible allows me to easily convert my AAX file to MP3, and even better, convert into parts so that it can fit my limited memory space. I honestly do not know what I would do without OpenAudible to manage my audiobooks. The interface is clean, easy to navigate and use. For a long time I relied on Calibre, but was never fully pleased. I no longer have to deal with that!

I have been a very happy user of OpenAudible for the last three years. It's very easy to set up and use and gives me the opportunity to play the books I have purchased in far more places. My car USB will not recognise Audible files, but with OpenAudibe conversions, I can now listen to my favourite books on long car journeys.
I have been very impressed with OpenAudible, it has allowed me to enjoy my books when and where I choose. What spurred my search for an application like OpenAudible was the unfortunate intermittant failure of the Audible App, I guess my phone is too old for Audible to support despite my requests. I've been quite impressed with Open Audible. It doesn't cost much but it has enabled me to convert all of my Audible books into a format whereby I can put them onto my kids audio devices so that they can listen on journeys when there's no internet signal.

Everyone who’s fond of Audible audiobooks, should get a copy of Openaudible. It gives you so much more access to your audiobooks.
Openaudible is one of my most favorite apps. It’s very user friendly. Installation is quick and easy. I love the option of keeping the previous version, so you can always test the newest version and return to the older one if you want. It’s easy to use. Menus are clear and uncluttered. There are regular new updates, so Openaudible keeps on getting better.
But most of all, of course, Openaudible is great for downloading audiobooks and converting them to MP3 and M4B-files. I use Openaudible on both a Windows-platform and on MacOs. Openaudible even runs on Windows 7, which I very much appreciate.
OpenAudible is great. It allows for me to make offline backups of my books that I can keep on my servers in case something happens to Audible or my account.
Open Audible has been an outstanding way for me to put Audible books on my kids MP3 players. It's better than the full app where they could order books by mistake that I don't approve of or that would burn through my credits by mistake. I tried to complete the conversion on my own unsuccessfully and stumbled on OpenAudible when it is was donationware. It's been worth every penny when it went paid as well. You should be able to keep things you purchase and not have to convert but that's just my opinion
Open Audible has been a fantastic way to get my books offline on to devices not traditionally supported by audible. It is simple and effective to use.
I decided to quit Amazon for good, but I didn't want to lose the books I had paid for. OpenAudible was easy to install and use. It's a lifetime license, but after 1 year does not update any more. This really isn't an issue because it already has all the features I need. If you are reinstalling after your 1 year is up, you will have to install the version you originally purchased.

Installation and implementation was very easy. Linking to my Audible account took no time at all. I like taking multi-file audiobooks and putting them into one file through OpenAudible. I also use its file structure to simply transfer to my NAS

The setup of the app on my Mac was quite easy! I was up and running quickly and I had access to all my Audible Audiobooks!

I've been using OpenAudible for 3-4 years and find it an excellent appilcation. It was/is very easy to install & setup and integrates exceptionally well with Audible. Offering both MP3 & M4b conversions it allows playback on a variety of applications/devices. Personally for me it is a Godsend as I cannot get Apple books to talk to Audible for authorisation, ending up in an authorsation loop. Neither Apple or Audible are of any help with this, OpenAudible allows me to convert .AAX to either MP3 or M4b files allowing access to files that would othersie only be listened to via the Audible app. I would certainly recommed OpenAudible to other audio listeners as a first class audio application.

OpenAudible allows me to do exactly what I was trying to do with surprising ease: in an instant I downloaded and converted all my audiobooks. I really find this a valuable asset. I have over a thosand books from an account at audible.com and another account at audible.co.uk. I have both accounts because sometimes co.uk will have the book and .com wont due to regional issues. I also like to keep a generic mp3 version. I have had audible change their formats over time, ie. from .aa to .aax. I also do not like their current app for playing books on the old cellphone I use as I used to use an Apple ipod. I have my own library system with Python and C utilities I have written to manage it. I use Smart AudioBook Player to listen on an old Samsung phone.

I have been using Open Audible for a few years now, It is a fantastic program! There are many options that I like to use, the splitting books for example. I use this every time because I like having the audio split so I am able to easily keep track of each book part. The login for Audible is super simple and fast as well and it does a good job letting you know what books you own and which ones are barrowed. I am very happy with it!
I use a dumb phone on the weekends and used this software to get my audiobooks into mp3 format. Not only is it great its accomplishing this task, it also splits my audiobooks into chapters just how I specifically want them! Loving openaudible for my needs!
OpenAudible is great - gives me the peace of mind to know that even if Audible decides to make some titles unavailable in future, goes bust, or whatever - I'll always have my own library of the audiobooks I've bought and paid for with annoying DRM stripped out. OpenAudible is excellent
I used to love being able to download my audio books to some of my legacy mobile devices and phones, but since audible discontinued supporting some devices ( I use a Sansa Fuze) I have been unable to use the audio book functions. This program brings back that functionality so that I can continue using many of the devices I still have and would prefer to continue to use!

I am very particular with how I like my audiobooks in my library. OpenAudible gives me the freedom to convert my audiobooks so I can maintain uniformity in my Audiobook collection. I have tried other options in the past and none that work as quickly and seamlessly as OpenAudible.

Within 10 minutes (according to time stamps) I had a response from support with suggestions. I could tell I was corresponding with someone who was knowledgeable. We emailed back and forth over the next day and they were able to resolve my issue in less than 24 hours. I understand that's a pretty high bar to meet and not all issues will be resolved that quickly, but I was very impressed with their responsiveness. I've been extremely happy with OpenAudible and I absolutely recommend it.

I have been using OpenAudible for several years now. I have over 200 audio books in Audible and OpenAudible allows me to easily backup those to local machine. I have zero trust to cloud based companies as they can "upgrade" the books with different narrator or remove access to purchased items on a whim. OpenAudible allows me to own my books for real.
We have a vast audible book library that has been built up over many years and we are adding to it all the time. Because of drm and seeing some content on other platforms we have purchased become unavailable, we were concerned this might start happening with audible too. Thankfully using OpenAudible has made it easy to backup all of our audio books and even convert them into convenient formats. I have since loaded them all into our Plex server, which makes accessing the books really easy. Now anytime we add a new book to the list, OpenAudible simply detects, downloads it, and converts it effortlessly. Then I copy it to my Plex server and it is now available on all our devices without any issues. This is some of the best software I have every used that works consistently.
I have over 150 books on Audible and while I love their platform, I am keen to combine them with my Apple book library. I can say this, OpenAudible was the answer! not only did it allow me to download my entire library at once, but it also provided the conversion tools I needed!

I do love the OpenAudible app, reassuring being able to keep a backup of your audio books, and also use them offline with your own home network, the audible connection with Sonos can be flakey - being able to play as mp3 makes it easier. Also being able to use other audio books on phones like BookPlayer is great.

OpenAudible is wonderful. I use it every time I get anything on audible. It gives me the freedom to play audible books on whatever media player app I want, what a relief. I hate being tied to one media player app. :) Plus, best of all, openaudible is accessible with voiceover on my mac. Voiceover is the screenreader on mac for the blind.

OpenAudible is one of my favorite and most useful apps. It was simple to install and set up and now I can make backups of my audiobooks and put copies on my kids' MP3 which wouldn't normally be able to play them.
The best audiobooks manager I've ever tried! Easy to download and install, supports multiple libraries, conversion to mp3 or m4a, downloads content for offline listening, plus it creates a web page with all my audiobooks, to name a few of its characteristics. I have an extensive collection of audiobooks and OpenAudible has made it easy to find what I want to listen to anytime, withouth having to navigate multiple pages in my official library website.
I've found this app invaluable in being able to transfer my purchased Audible content onto MP3 cards/playlists readable by my young son's Yoto Player. Its great!

Open Audible is extremely quick and easy to install and setup, including logging in, which features browser and non-browser options as well as legacy sign in. With a variety of options and conversions between formats, OpenAudible continues to exceed your expectations as the only software I use to manage my Audible books offline and locally on my device for backup, should my account ever be compromised.
I've also enjoyed splitting books by chapter to have smaller audio clips for reference.

I love OpenAudible since version 2.2. It has always been a great tool for managing my library of audio books and for converting and backup of otherwise platform-dependend formats. The installation and setup is easy and splitting the books into the chapters is big plus (I used some other tool for that, until it was integrated in OpenAudible). It is really fairly priced for the lot of functions and ease of use.

I am a long-time user of Audible books and enjoy them immensely. Having moved to Linux, I use and recommend the OpenAudible to convert your purchases to a format able to be listened to and enjoyed by any media player, including those with the Linux operating system.
So easy to use. It's shocking how Amazon can't match this ease of use. Trying to listen on Linux is a nightmare.
Initial setup was fast and easy.
I'm using it to load my books on my watch while I go running. The feature to split the book by chapter is really useful - it's easier to remember what chapter you were listening to rather then at what time in a 10 hours book.
You sometimes have to reconnect to Audible and key in your credentials.
The inteface is simple but it does the job.

OpenAudible is great! The Application helped me share ma reach Audible Library with my family and have always a local backup, giving me the posibility to take the books with me also on other old devices like a small mp3-Player.
I recomend it especially if you want to save all the books, before closing the Audible account. There are not so many posibillties as good as OpenAudible on the market.

I have been using this for a long time - allows me to get my Audible purchases onto my Garmin watch, which is otherwise impossible. I love this software, and it also allows me to ensure a backup of all the things that I have purchased (now well into the thousands of dollars) should anything change with Amazon, licensing, or the like. Been using OpenAudible over a year now. The software is easy to use, navigation is logical, gui is clean and I have not had any issues whatsoever. If I had to choose between using Microsoft Windows or OpenAudible, I would stop using Windows. OpenAudible is vital for me.
As a linux user OpenAudible has been an invaluable tool to make mp3 backups of my book purchases. I wouldn't have the flexibility of mp3's otherwise. OpenAudible also downloads very fast, whearas the Audible app itself tends to load only enough to start listening, then will speed up after a long period of waiting. The gtk interface is simple and clean and works as expected. OpenAudible is well worth the purchase.
Great program, easy to install and navigate on Windows. I probably wouldn't have kept using Audible after the first few months without Open Audible. Having the books in MP3 format instead of staying connected online to Audible is my favorite part.

I love being able to back up my Audible books with OpenAudible, especially after Audible removed the version of one of my favourite books narrated by an excellent narrator and replaced it with a version I like much less. Although I still have access to the original on Audible for now, if something were to happen to their file I may be forced to use the new version. Now, with OpenAudible, I can be confident that I have my own copy of the original version, safely stored for the future.

Even though I am an Amazon Prime member and have families set up - my wife and I weren't able to share our purchases, including audiobooks for our children. We wanted to be able to use our purchased audiobook collection in the car and found a fantastic app called Book Player which has car play support. OpenAudible was able to take our purchased audiobooks from Audible and convert them so they could be added to this CarPlay app so that we could both enjoy them whenever we wanted! OpenAudible is so easy! I now plan to use it to convert these Audible purchases to mp3 and add them to my 4 year old's Yoto player via the make your own cards! Fantastic app

I absolutely love OpenAudible! Audible does not have an official app for my Galaxy Watch, so if I want to listen to my books off of my watch during my morning run, I'm out of luck. I'm using OpenAudible since years and it worked always in a proper way.
Simple installation dialog and auto conversion of aax to MP3 is the most used function.
Menus are very comfortable, and the splitting of the files works well.

We use waterproof MP3 players in the pool when we swim laps. Unfortunately Audible audiobooks don't work so we need to use OpenAudible to convert the Audible files to mp3s. It works great and makes it so much more fun to go to the gym!

Used OpenAudible for a few years including the licensed version to allow me to convert to M4B. Has allowed me to play audiobooks on devices which couldn't support the Audible app e.g. basic MP3 player, car, older tablets. Works extremely well, very fast to convert and is intuitive to use. I downloaded OpenAudible to access audiobooks on my Garmin Watch. The app has worked perfectly with no quirks. I can easily download the files and transfer them. I've used the app for my devices and my families. It has worked with seamlessly with a Fenix 5, ForeRunner 945, Venu 2s, ForeRunner 965 and Fenix 7 Pro. The audio downloads at the same quality and the app is easy and intuitive to use!

I have been with audible for a long time. It just blew my mind that when I cancelled my subscription I didnt have access to my books, that I OWN and PAID FOR if I havent already downloaded them. I searched the web and found this program that was recommended to me thrue my online community. I can now save my audiobooks, I uploaded them to my drive and I have access to them wherever, whenever and on whatever device I want. Changing phone? No problem, my audiobooks are there. As someone who is blind and uses a Screen Reader, OpenAudible has been fantastic! It is completely accessible using Jaws, NVDA, or Narrator; I primarily use Jaws. I have an app on my phone that I prefer to listen to books on that cannot access Audible books, so converting to MP3 works perfectly! Although audible has quite an impressive app that covers (almost) all my needs for taking audiobooks with me, there are still some gaps.
Mostly offline security. I bought those audiobooks and would like to keep (and listen to) offline copies for safekeeping or for offline listening without the audible's native app or for privacy reasons...
And openAudible bridges all those gaps. It literally "opens Audible" up so I can enjoy the content I have paid for to the full extend.

Very easy and straightfoward. I'm running Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS on a Lenovo ThinkPad P51. Just downloaded the *.deb file and installed it with: "sudo apt install ./OpenAudible_3.3_x86_64.deb"
It runs well, right out of the box, with easy prompts and links to the Get Started documentation.

I use openAudible so that I can listen to my Audible books on an alternate iPhone app, that is not constantly spying on me, like the Audible app. It is also important to me that openAudible can create backups of books, and that these backups will ALWAYS work, even if Amazon decides to cancel my account. OpenAudible installation and initial setup was very easy. OpenAudible has met my expectations for capabilities, and exceeded my expectations for ease of use.

OpenAudible is an invaluable tool for me personally. Since I don't have a Smartphone and need the freedom that only MP3's can give me, OpenAudible is the perfect tool to not only convert my Audible books, but also to split them into chapters of length of my choosing. I've been using OpenAudible for a couple of years now (maybe more), and I know that I'll continue to use their services in the future. For the price, it's just too great a resource to pass up.

OpenAudible is wonderful. It has presented no problems syncing with my library and converting the books to mp3 format. This has allowed me to use my favorite players on Android, Windows, and Linux to listen and organize my books. I have run OpenAudible on both Windows 10 and Fedora Linux. Installation and connecting the account are simple.
With the annual license being less than the cost of the average audio book, it is a real no-brainer.

I've been using OpenAudible for a couple years now. I am totally blind and, for obvious reasons, love audiobooks. I've been an audiobook reader since before audiobooks were cool. I've also been an Audible subscriber for at least 15 years.
However, much as I love my iPhone, I sometimes have need to put my books on some other kind of portable player, so I needed an easy way to convert them to a standard format for my own use. I needed something that would work on the Mac, and I needed a program that would work with VoiceOver, the screen reading software used on the Mac. OpenAudible was one of only a couple of solutions that I found I could use to convert my books, at a reasonable price. I've found it pretty easy to navigate, with reliable and fairly quick conversions. I've had no problems with the program, and it has enabled me to enjoy more audiobooks beyond the use of my iPhone. And since I also prefer my books split by chapter, I've found that OpenAudible does a great job with splitting my books for easier navigation. A definite recommend from me.
I LOVE OpenAudible! So easy to understand, download, and use, it allows me to have my books available anywhere, anytime, and on any of my devices. With five grandkids, I can choose books appropriate for them with no arguments about who gets to listen to what, when, where, and on which device — without costing me hundreds of dollars at the bookstore.
